Virtual Ruma

Digital cultural heritage presentation, 360° virtual tours and video production

Virtual Ruma

A multimedia web platform presenting the cultural heritage of Ruma through photography, video, interactive 360° virtual tours and professional video and drone production.

About the project

Virtual Ruma is a digital platform dedicated to presenting the movable and immovable cultural heritage and intangible heritage of the Municipality of Ruma.

The project includes the Ruma Heritage Museum, the Brana Crnčević Cultural Center and the Atanasije Stojković City Library.

Geolink was responsible for the complete design and development of the web platform, photographic and video production, 360° location capture and development of interactive virtual tours.

Visitors can explore cultural institutions through photography and video, but can also virtually move through their interiors, look around in 360°, zoom into details and move between rooms almost as if they were physically present.

Challenge

The main challenge was to present the cultural heritage of Ruma in a way that goes beyond a conventional website.

A wide range of content — cultural institutions, buildings, exhibits, photography, video and physical spaces — needed to be combined into a single digital experience.

A particularly demanding part of the project was capturing the interiors in 360° and connecting individual panoramic positions into interactive virtual tours that allow visitors to move naturally through the spaces.

The project also included professional multi-location video production, interview recording and extensive aerial filming of the city and its cultural institutions.

Our solution

We developed a multimedia web platform combining traditional web content, photography, video and interactive 360° virtual tours.

The interiors of cultural institutions were captured using an Insta360 camera, and the resulting panoramic material was connected into virtual tours that allow visitors to move from room to room, explore spaces from every angle and examine individual details.

Professional video production was carried out alongside the platform development. An interview with the municipal president was recorded using two cameras, while two drones were used to capture the city and cultural institutions.

Aerial filming covered the city and its institutions, while selected shots also included drone flights through interior spaces to create a more dynamic and immersive promotional film.

Design & technology

Virtual Ruma was developed as a multimedia web project using PHP and Java, with a strong focus on integrating traditional web content with 360° experiences and professional video production.

An Insta360 camera was used to capture the virtual tour environments, after which panoramic scenes were connected into an interactive experience that allows natural navigation through the buildings.

Video production combined two-camera filming with two-drone aerial production, including city views, cultural institutions and dynamic flights through selected interior spaces.

The project brings together web development, multimedia production, 360° technology and professional video production within a single digital experience.

RESULT

The result is a digital cultural heritage experience that offers visitors much more than a conventional website.

Users can discover cultural institutions, view photography and video content and virtually walk through their interiors in 360°, exploring the spaces almost as if they were physically there.

Professional video and drone production provides an additional perspective on the city and its institutions that traditional photography alone could not offer.
